Welcome to the online hub of my naturopathic practice!
I am an experienced licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Ottawa, Ontario. I have completed the Ontario prescribing and therapeutics exam enabling me to prescribe bioidentical hormones, desiccated thyroid, B12 injections, high dose vitamins, etc. I am also a mother of two young kids, a yogi, a runner, a blossoming outdoor enthusiast, and truthfully a recovering stress addict.
I am a health analyst. I am in search of root cause origin of the mechanism underlying pretty much everything in life, including your health concerns. This curiosity for source flourished during my 4-year undergraduate degree in neuroscience at Dalhousie University, and found its structure during the 4-year naturopathic medical program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (2010). Naturopathic medicine has also given me the tools to gently and effectively uproot the source of ailment to create balance and a return to wellness.
What is naturopathic medicine?
My medical practice is data-driven and based on an extensive initial patient investigation, followed by structured root cause intervention. In naturopathic medicine we first try gentle natural therapies (like herbs, dietary changes, exercise), which in my experience yield tremendous results. When required, more aggressive therapies may be considered, such as bioidentical hormones, IV therapies, and then if needed we are fortunate to have pharmaceutical and surgical options available. The goal is for patients to feel better. The closer we can get to the root cause of disease, the gentler the interventions can be, and the more likely we are to truly achieve a CURE.

When do you see a naturopathic doctor?
When you need clarity and answers.
When you need a teammate, a researcher, a compassionate ear.
When you need a champion for your cause.
How I practice
I practice by teaching my patients about the mechanism of why they feel as they do. By better understanding the “why” patients are empowered to create change. I value transparency and do my best to provide it to my patients directly, as well as help them find clarity in their health information in general.
I generally see patients for 3 or more visits.
The first visit can be up to 1.5 hours as it takes that long to do a thorough intake of the patient’s history. We review their past illnesses, diet, sleep, stress sources, medications, supplements, family history and more. We then pull out a structured game plan and the patient leaves with a first level treatment plan that may include supplements, herbs, dietary guidelines, lifestyle change suggestions, a requisition for lab work, etc.
The second visit is usually 2-4 weeks after the first, and can last up to 1 hour. This is where we fill in the last remaining gaps by reviewing lab results, impact of the previous intervention, etc., and then formulate a more complete treatment approach which we usually stick with for 4-8 weeks before the subsequent follow-up appointment. We also complete a full physical exam.
Follow-up visits are 30 mins and allow us to tweak the treatment plan until wellness is achieved (usually within a few visits).
I am an avid referrer and collaborator! I believe my job is to help my patients find their most direct path to wellness. I see myself as a gateway practitioner. I collaborate both with the patient and their broader healthcare team. When appropriate, I help determine which intervention/practitioner my patient needs and send them there quickly (such as pelvic physiotherapy, massage therapy, etc).
